Virginia Thanksgiving Festival at The Berkeley Plantation

Come celebrate the re-enactment of America’s first Thanksgiving at Berkeley Plantation! The plantation is located halfway between Richmond and Williamsburg at 12602 Harrison Landing Road in Charles City, Virginia. The festival kicks off with a parade including horse-drawn carriages, fife and drum corps, festival entertainers and participants. Interact with first person re-enactors all throughout the grounds, play colonial era lawn games, and dance to period music performed by a live band. The re-enactment of the landing begins at 3:00 pm followed by a performance by the Chickahominy Tribal Dancers. Vendors will be showcasing art, jewelry, and the best part of Thanksgiving – food! It’s sure to be a fun and educational day for the whole family! The festival runs on November 5th from 12-4 pm.

InLight Richmond

Before the Christmas lights go up around town, there’s one light show not to be missed. InLight Richmond is an exhibition of light-based art and performances, featuring sculpture, video, and interactive projects that illuminate pathways, walls, and more! The festival kicks off with kicks off with the Community Lantern Parade. This experience is unique in that it gives Richmonders a chance to experience contemporary art outside of the usual gallery setting and see their city in a new and exciting way! This is a free event taking place November 3, 2017, from 7pm to midnight, in the City’s Arts and Culture District.

Gingerbread Stout Release at Hardywood

Every Richmonders favorite holiday beer returns to Hardywood on Saturday, November 4th – that’s right, Gingerbread Stout is back! From 1-10 pm come get stocked up on the popular brew (described as “Christmas in a bottle”), enjoy food from five different food trucks and live music starting at 6 pm! Three different bands will be hitting the Hardywood stage coming to Richmond from as far away as NYC and Germany! Come out to the brewery at 2408-2410 Ownby Ln, Richmond, VA and enjoy the warm weather while it lasts!
