Happy Friday, Richmond! We hope everyone had a great week and now looking forward to the weekend. This week we will be looking at the Ryan Homes community, Adams Park in Richmond. A new community that is in close proximity to downtown Richmond and Chippenham. This weekend there is a lot going on so check out the local events.

This evening head on over to the VMFA for a “Friday Art and Wine”. The description states, “Now you have another reason to hang out at VMFA on Friday nights! Head to the museum and enjoy Happy Hour specials on beverages and free half-hour gallery tours at 7 and 7:30 pm” (www.richmondmom.com). This event is only a 15 minute drive from Adams Park

On Saturday, the “We Care Festival” will be happening in the morning from 10am to 2pm. The description states, “The 13th annual WE CARE will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Hotchkiss Field Community Center. The community-focused festival celebrates health, wellness, education and resident empowerment” (www.richmond.com). This event is free and and will have family friendly activities. The festival is a 20 minute drive from Adams Park.

Saturday evening, the Eli Young Band will be performing at The National downtown.  The doors open at 7pm with the band starting at 8pm. Eli Young Band is a country band that has won several awards and also performed on major television. For tickets and more information on the event, please visit www.thenationalva.com. The National is a 15 minute drive from Adams Park.

On Sunday, the “Sunday Jazz with Pocket Jazz will be happening at the Castleburg Brewery and Taproom in Scott’s Addition. The event is free and is going to be going from 4pm until 7pm. From the website’s description, “Pocket Jazz is a four-piece ensemble playing instrumental versions of jazz standards and cool pop tunes” (www.visitrichmondva.com). Castleburg Brewery and Taproom is a 20 minute drive from the Adams Park community.
