We’re in for some chilly weather this weekend Richmonders! With lows in the 20s, make sure you bundle up for whatever your weekend plans entail! Also, the Richmond Marathon is this Saturday 11/10, so be sure to check out race times and road closures here.

If you’re not feeling the holiday spirit around town yet, a trip to Short Pump Town Center on Friday night should change that! Santa’s scheduled to check in for his annual residency on the upper level (near LL Bean) with a parade that starts at 7:30 and a magical tree lighting ceremony! On Saturday, you can support local business at Lakeside Avenue’s annual Holly Jolly Christmas event! Experience this historic neighborhood’s unique shopping and dining scene as they kick off the holiday season with sales and specials all around.

If you’re brave enough to venture out after the sun (and the temperature) goes down, head over to Maymont on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday from 6-10 for the last weekend of their Garden Glow event. The winding waterways, rolling hills, bridges and lanterns of the Japanese Garden have been artfully illuminated and is truly a magical sight. Enjoy traditional Japanese entertainment, interactive arts and crafts, and food from the Tea House and rotating food trucks!

Also on Saturday, November 10th from 11am-4pm Enrichmond is hosting their 6th Annual Richmond Cider Celebration at the 17th Street Farmer’s Market! Enjoy tastings from local VA cideries including Blue Bee, Buskey, Courthouse Creek, Albemarle, Bold Rock and more! Attendees can learn more about their favorite ciders through educational and tasting workshops, enjoy live music, local food and shop artisan vendor’s booths. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
