Check out what’s going on this Halloween Weekend in RVA!

On Saturday, head to Carytown for some kid-friendly trick or treating before the annual Zombie Walk starts! From 12-2 bring the whole family out in costume and  get a head start on the candy stash for this year. Businesses participating will have a pumpkin displayed in their windows so keep your eyes out! The Zombie walk will start at 2:30, so hang out for the show (or take the kids home is they’re easily freaked out). If you want to participate in this annual RVA tradition, the pre-walk meet up starts at 1 at the Boat Lake by Byrd Park. The actual walk will begin across the street from the Byrd Theatre! There will be prizes for Most Disgusting, Best Couple/Group Theme, Best Zombie Kid and more so bring your A-game!

On Sunday from 4-7 pm, you can visit the Haunted Tuckahoe Plantation…if you dare! Enjoy fall festival games for all ages, like a hayride, spider web maze, and more. If you’re feeling brave, go on a ghost tour of the plantation mansion, but you might get more than you bargained for…Tickets are $10 per person and $35 per family, with additional $10 per person or $20 per family for house tours.

If Halloween isn’t your thing, check out the Central VA Celtic Festival at the Richmond Raceway all weekend long! Enjoy traditional Celtic music, dancing, and competitions like axe throwing, hurling and more! Vendors will be selling traditional Celtic food, crafts, textiles and pottery, and for an additional fee you can enjoy whisky tastings! You can feel good about all the fun you’ll have – this event has raised over $500,000 for local RVA charities over the last 5 years! Kids 12 and under get in free, admission is $20 for one day, and $30 for both Saturday and Sunday.
