The Richmond Oktoberfest is going down at the Richmond Raceway all weekend long! Come out and enjoy the most authentic German folk fest in Virginia. This festival began in 1969 and maintains all of the same time-honored traditions you would find at Oktoberfest in Munich! Enjoy a day full of traditional German music, entertainment, food and drink all under one roof! Try your hand at a beer stein holding contest and keep the kids entertained in the Kinder Korner with Arts and Crafts. Doors open at 3:00 on Saturday and close at 12:00 am.

This Saturday, October 20th come out enjoy the Scott’s Addition Pumpkin Festival! The festival takes place on Boulevard, starting by the Movieland Theater and extending down to Broad Street. Bring the whole family (dogs too!) and enjoy pumpkin themed food and drinks, live music and a kids zone packed with activities and crafts! Dress in your Halloween best and enter the costume contest! There are divisions for kids, adults and pets! The event is free to enter, rain or shine, and runs from 12-6.

This Saturday, check out the first annual RVA Booklovers Festival featuring Virginia authors, literary and Virginia crafters, local cuisine, and more! This year’s inaugural event features over 40 published authors and poets performing readings and book talks on three stages throughout the day. The Festival will host a Main Stage, a Kids’ Corner, and a Poet-tree, along with an open mic, a used book drive benefiting the local community, a raffle, a costume contest for kids (ages 12 and under), interactive children’s activities, literary-inspired artisans, delicious local cuisine, official Festival merchandise, and more. Festival takes place at 1921 Princess Anne Ave. in Richmond.
