We’re coming towards the end of Friday Cheers on Brown’s Island! Tonight’s show is the second to last event of the summer so make sure you get out and catch it! Tonight’s tickets are only $5 to see KNOWER, a group based in LA, blazing their own trail through the music world using their unique blend of jazz, rock, electric, and rap. Their live shows are supposed to be quite the experience, so if you haven’t checked out Friday Cheers yet, tonight might be the night to do it!

On Saturday the battle of the food festivals is going down – Bacon Fest vs Veg Fest! If you’re strictly a carnivore head to the corner of Franklin and 17th St for Enrichmond’s 6th annual Bacon Festival! Bacon chefs (adding this to my list of backup careers) will be serving their best recipes for the chance to win the Best Bacon Award, $250 in cash, acceptance into next year’s competition, and of course bacon bragging rights. Devil’s Backbone will be serving up their popular brews along with a selection of Bold Rock Ciders and live music will keep the party going from 11-4! Entry is free but a $1 donation is suggested to keep Enrichmond projects running. Bring the family, a lawn chair, and an appetite! Now if you’re a vegetarian (or if clogging your arteries isn’t really your thing) head over to the Azalea Gardens at Bryan Park for Richmond Veg Fest! From 12-6 they’ll have cooking demos, speakers, live music, performers, vendors, artists, and tons of local food trucks and restaurants serving their best vegetarian dishes.

Once you’re done with all that eating (healthy or otherwise), on Saturday afternoon Innsbrook After Hours welcomes back Big Field Day, one of the largest alternative music festivals around! This year’s headliners include: Awolnation, Dashboard Confessional, Manchester Orchestra, Moon Taxi and more! The gates open up at 2, and the music starts at 3. The best part is that tickets are only $36 for general admission! Visit www.innsbrookafterhours.com for more info! Enjoy your weekend Richmonders!
