If you’re not busy this weekend prepping the house and kitchen for a family invasion in a few days, take some time to check out what’s going on in RVA this weekend!

53rd Annual Craft + Design Show

Start your holiday shopping early, or just go to admire the unique craftsmanship the  Craft + Design Show has to offer. Artists from all over the country have come to Richmond to showcase their work in various categories including, jewelry, ceramics, precious metals, glass, wood, contemporary design and more! The event will take place November 17-19, at Main Street Station’s newly renovated train shed in Shockoe Bottom. General Admission to the show is $10.

Brunswick Stew and Stout Fest

Enrichmond is hosting it’s annual Brunswick Stew & Stout Festival on Saturday from 11-4! For those of you who don’t know what Brunswick stew is (shame on you) it is usually a thick, tomato-based stew, containing lima or butter beans, corn, okra, and other vegetables, and one or more types of meat. However, Brunswick stew tends to vary regionally so luckily for us, Enrichmond is hosting seven stew teams (stewers? stew makers?) from all over Virginia and North Carolina so you can taste the variations in flavor! These competitive stew teams will be competing for cash prizes, best stew winning $1,000! Paired with the stews are 8 different local, hearty stouts to try from some of your favorite RVA breweries. Stew will be available to purchase and take home, but get there early as they have run out in past years. Come out to enjoy live music, good food and good friends all for  great cause!

Fall Harvest Festival at Hardywood

Hardywood will be hosting a fall festival complete with pumpkin painting, lawn games, face painting, scarecrows and hay bales galore! On Sunday from 12-5 head out to the beer garden with the kids (or your dog) to enjoy some fall fun, good beer and live music starting at 3 pm. The Dog Wagon and Four Brothers Bistro and Grill RVA will be providing food from their mobile restaurants all day! Enjoy the last weekend before holiday craziness sets in!
