It seems that autumn weather has FINALLY caught up with us and I have to say I will miss the 75 degree Indian summer we were having. I’m sure those running the marathon tomorrow will agree with me…

The Richmond Marathon is tomorrow, Saturday November 11th! The scenic course will showcase some of the city’s best features including the historic architecture, river views, street art and more! First off if you’re running it, congratulations you’re a braver man than I. On the route you can expect to see all kinds of things to keep your motivation up like cheering sections and DJs blasting music. The race culminates in a large after party across the finish line at Brown’s Island where you can get a well earned slice of pizza and a beer! Spectators are encouraged to get in on the fun and track your racer as they go. Those not partaking in the festivities are encouraged to be aware of road closures and potential delays! Congrats to those going out in the cold and crushing it!

Maybe after you run/watch someone run that marathon you can head out and enjoy something else RVA has to over this weekend – The Richmond Cider Celebration! With events all over town celebrating Virginia’s booming cider industry, you’re sure to find something to pique your interest. Tonight, Friday 11/10, 821 Cafe, Buttermilk Bake Shop and Potter’s Craft Cider are doing a collaboration serving up apple themed desserts and ciders to pair with them! Saturday 11/11 head to the 17th St Farmer’s Market for a tasting session featuring 11 local Virginia cideries, live music and more! This event runs from 11-4 pm. Then wrap up your weekend with a cider infused brunch at Busky’s Cider. Enjoy cider mimosa pitchers, Lamplighter coffee, and eat Capitol Waffle Shop’s chicken & waffles! (You haven’t lived until you’ve eaten this pairing, trust me.)

Plenty to still go out and do before Santa rolls into town folks, get out and enjoy our awesome city!
