Less than 3 weeks until Halloween, Richmonders! If you’re trying to get into the spirit a little early this year, you’re in luck – or are you? It is Friday the 13th after all…

First up are the famous haunted ghost tours of Richmond. We all know our city is steeped in history, some of it dark and tragic. The Haunts of Richmond walking tours will take you around some of Richmond’s most historic (and haunted) neighborhoods after dark. Choose from Haunted Capitol Hill, where you’ll tour the Executive Mansion and Capitol Square or Church Hill Chillers, where you’ll visit the oldest public cemetery in Richmond. But if you really want a good scare, The Shadows of Shockoe tour is the way to go. Shockoe Bottom is the oldest and most haunted neighborhood in Richmond, and the home to some of the most bone chilling paranormal events in the city. Bring a camera, but only if you’re not afraid to see what shows up on film…

Looking for a little less terror and a little more fun? How about the Zombie Prom at Ashland Berry Farm! That’s right, on Friday the 13th dress in your best zombie costume for Q94 Richmond’s Zombie Prom. Complete with a zombie prom king and queen dance contest AND a good old fashioned screaming contest (most terrifying scream wins), this event is sure to put you in the Halloween mood! Runs from 8-10 pm!

If spooks and screams aren’t your thing, fear not. A fun day pumpkin picking at The Chesterfield Berry Farm should do the trick! With hay rides, a corn maze, an animal corral, moon bounce, rope swings, and more, this is the perfect place to spend a day out in the country enjoying the beautiful fall weather!  Pick your own pumpkin hours are 9-5 on Saturdays and Sundays in October.
