Spring is almost here but the weather in Richmond hasn’t quite gotten the memo yet! On Saturday we’re expected to have a sunny day with a high in the low 50’s whereas Sunday will be 10 degrees cooler and cloudy with a chance of rain. With that being said, definitely plan to get out tomorrow and explore some of the events below!

The Scott’s Addition Beverage District will be having their 1st Annual Collaboration Crawl this Saturday 3/10! Five popular breweries are teaming up with distilleries and cideries in the Scott’s Addition neighborhood to work together and create some delicious new recipes. Each team will create one new beer recipe and one new cider, mead or spirit for a total of 10 collaboration libations! Starting at 12:00 PM head to your starting location of choice and get a stamp card. Once you’ve gotten at least 5 stamps, you can turn in your stamp card at any location and be entered to win a $25 Gift Certificate! As always there will be food trucks and music at most locations so come out and enjoy what is sure to be a fun day in the Beverage District! Here’s a list of this year’s collab partners:

  • Three Notch’d RVA & Courthouse Creek Cider
  • Blue Bee Cider & Ardent Craft Ales
  • Isley Brewing Company & Buskey Cider
  • Reservoir Distillery & Vasen Brewing Company
  • The Veil Brewing Co. & Black Heath Meadery

Once you’ve wrapped things up in Scott’s Addition, take a short drive over to the SCOR (Sports Center of Richmond) complex at 1385 Overbrook Rd. for a Hard Hat Happy Hour at Peak Experiences RVA! This will be their final Hard Hat tour before their grand opening. From 4:00-6:00 PM come out and see the final stages of construction while enjoying some pizza and beer from Ardent Craft Ales! The huge climbing center will feature over 15,000 sq. ft. of climbing terrain with 5,000 sq. ft. of bouldering, a lead climbing specific area, separate group event space, yoga studio and more!  This event is free to enter but please pre-register at universe.com/peak.

Finally, if you feel like celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a little early, join the Shockoe Bottom Neighborhood Association for their 3rd annual Blarney Bash! This year the event will be held in the newly renovated Shed at Main Street Station. From 1:00-7:00 come out and enjoy Irish step dancing, music from The Gold Sauce and The Mash Up, as well as a performance from The Metro Richmond Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums. Food and drink will be available for purchase (not just corned beef and cabbage!) and be sure to bring the kids to check out the moon bounce, face painting, and more! So, grab a Guinness and stay a while, or pull an Irish goodbye and slip out to head home – we don’t blame you, you’ve had a long day! Good thing Sunday is reserved for bad weather, your couch, and Netflix.

Have a good one RVA!
