Whether you’re looking for family friendly activities or ready to leave the kids at home, there’s plenty of options for this year’s Fourth of July celebrations!

From 9-5 on July 4th you and the whole family can get into Lewis Ginter for free! Enjoy the gardens, live music, and patriotic parade in the Children’s Garden! You can even participate by decking out your strollers with red, white and blue!

The Diamond is celebrating Independence Day with America’s pastime! Watch the Flying Squirrels take on The Akron RubberDucks at 6:35 on the 4th and stick around for the fireworks after the game!

Rocketts Landing is hosting their annual “Rocketts Red Glare” celebration, a free event from July 2 – 4. With live music, activities, food trucks, craft beer and a pro beach volleyball tournament there’s plenty of action to keep the whole family entertained! Be sure to stick around until the riverfront fireworks at 9 PM on the 4th!  

Head on out to the Chesterfield County fairgrounds for their patriotic celebration! Gates open on Wednesday at 5, admission is free, and before the fireworks start you can enjoy food, vendors, performances and a kids area with inflatables and more!

If you’re looking for more adult friendly activities Scott’s Addition is the place to be. Buskey Cider is serving up red, white and blue cider flights AND free hotdogs! Isley Brewing is releasing their first lager on the 4th and are celebrating with live music throughout the day, patio games, and a dunk tank! You can also hang out here and get a great view of The Diamond fireworks so bring a lawn chair! Ardent is expanding their hours, opening at noon on the 4th and hosting River City Wood Fire pizza all day!
