Good Afternoon, Richmond! We hope everyone is having a great week. There are some local events happening in the Glen Allen area this weekend near the subdivision Chickahominy Falls. The local builder, StyleCraft is one of the builders in the subdivision.

On Friday evening, the “Campaign Mailing Party” will be happening in Ashland. From the event’s page on Facebook,  “It’s finally time to send all of these postcards!!    My fabulous volunteers have written thousands of postcards and today is the day to get them all in the mail.   Helpers will be adding address labels and stamps. If you would like to bring a roll of postcard stamps – we can use them – if not just bring yourself to help out!  Light hors d’ouevres will be served and we will have music and fun (not just work!) Tickets are free and used for head-count and to give you the address,” (facebook.com). This event is approximately a 10 minute drive from Chickahominy Falls.

On Saturday, “Oktoberfest” will be happening in Ashland. Information from the event’s website, “WE’VE GOT THE STEINS IF YOU’VE GOT THE TIME!!! Plus Incredible Beer to fill them with too….It’s OKTOBERFEST Time again and CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE BREWING is throwing a PARTY and then some….Start the day with our DAS BIER RUN! Grab your buddies and make a team of either 4 or 2 people….. OR take a shot at the SOLO CHALLENGE!We’ll have a MASS start at 11:00 am in front of our brewery. Teams: Each member will do what it takes to do 4 of our 1 MILE Laps. At the completion of each lap, you will check in & hand off your baton to the next team member. Solo: Easy! Run 4 laps…. you will have to check in with each lap,” (localrace.com). This event is only about a 10 minute drive from Chickahominy Falls as well. 

Also happening on Saturday is the “Explore 3D Printing” event at the Ashland Branch Library. From the event’s website, “Explore 3D printing at the library. Learn to use Tinkercad to create your own design and submit your “thing” to the library to be printed. Computer mouse skills are needed for this class which is designed for those 8 years old and above. Children 12 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must be registered for the class,” (ashlandva.gov). The Ashland Branch Library is also only a 10 minute drive from Chickahominy Falls

Also happening on Saturday this week is the Fall at the Farmer’s Market in Ashland. From the event’s website, “We know your fall gets busy. Let us help you make your shopping easier, and, dare we say, more pleasant! We are with you every single Saturday morning until the end of October, and we remain well stocked with the best locally produced goods around: meats, seasonal produce, eggs, cut flowers, baked goods, honey, soaps, and more, all sold directly to you by the producers themselves, all grown or made within a 30-mile radius of Ashland, VA. All of this, plus live music nearly every week and plenty of free parking, plus the friendliest shopping experience you’re likely to find! Visit us on Saturday morning from 9am until noon in the parking lot of Henry Clay Elementary School, 310 S. James Street (corner of Hanover and James). You won’t be sorry, (Facebook.com). This event is also only a 10 minute drive from Chickahominy Falls.
