Good afternoon Richmond! This week we will be looking at the Eastwood Home’s community, Watermark Townhomes located in North Chesterfield. The townhome community surrounds Cosby Lake and is located near routes 150 and 288. Check out some of the local events happening this weekend in the area!
On no other than Friday the 13th,
the Richmond Tattoo, Art, and Music Festival will be happening starting at 3pm.
From the event’s website, “August 8, 2019 Richmond, VA – Known for intimate celebrity
encounters, the Richmond Tattoo, Art & Music Festival will open its doors
for the 27th year this September. More than 150 local and internationally known
tattoo artists will tattoo guests, including:
Ryan Ashley Malarkey: The artist appeared in Ink Masters and Ink Masters Angels. Known for her black and white jewelry tattoos, she’ll also lead a course in the Richmond Tattoo & Arts Academy,” (Richmond.com). This event is approximately a 20 minute drive from Watermark Townhomes.
On Saturday, the Allison’s Reach Kite Festival will be happening from 10am-4pm at the Westchester Commons. From the website, “Allison’s Reach is a Maternal Mental Health Foundation created to raise awareness for Postpartum Depression. In loving memory of Allison Goldstein. Let’s help raise awareness for Maternal Mental Health and support Allison’s Reach Foundation in their efforts. Let’s fill the skies with kites and take a “Mental Health Day’ with the entire family. In addition to professional kite demonstrations, children’s kite making workshops, coloring and design competitions and lots of family centered activities we plan to have handcraft vendors from all over the Central Virginia Region. This festival will be free to the public. Bring your family and enjoy face painting, inflatable bounce houses and slides, a petting zoo, horse drawn carriage rides and much more. A large variety of food and beverages will be available from onsite vendors and local businesses,” (chesterfield.gov). This event is only a 20 minute commute from Watermark Townhomes as well.
Also happening on Saturday is the 43rd St
Festival of the Arts which is an art and craft show. From the website, he
43rd Street Festival of the Arts is a fine art and craft show held in Richmond,
VA. Limited to 80 artisans, it features local and regional art and fine
crafts, fantastic local musicians and great food. Fund raiser for
CARITAS.Saturday, September 14, 10 am-5pm 43rd St.
and Forest Hill Avenue
Music provided by Susan Greenbaum, The Atkinsons, Tin Can Fish Band, Bluz Catz and Janet Martin,” (Richmond.com). The festival is only about an 18 minute drive from Watermark Townhomes.
