Can you believe it’s already August, Richmond? If you’re looking for some events for the weekend look no further to kick in the first weekend of the month. This week we will be looking at the subdivision in Ashland, Chickahominy Falls and the builder StyleCraft Homes. Chickahominy Falls is a 55+ agricultural community that allows members to garden in the large agriculture section. Check out the events that are happening in the area this weekend.
On Friday evening, The John Butler Trio will be performing at Innsbrook After Hours starting at 6pm. A great opportunity to get with family and friends to enjoy some live music on this Friday evening. On Saturday, The James River Cellars Winery will be open! An ashland favorite, this winery is located right on route one and a great time for family and friends. At the winery wine tastings area available for purchase along with wines by the bottle and glass. The patio is open and you are welcomed to bring outside food, but there are a few food items that are sold at the winery. The James River Cellars Winery is located at 11008 Washington Highway in Ashland and is only a 5 minute drive from Chickahominy Falls. Also happening on Saturday, “History in Focus: A Series” at Meadow Farm Museum will be happening from 1 to 3pm. Tomorrow’s theme is: “keeping cool in the summer: Learn how people tolerated hot summers before air conditioning, short sleeves, or shorts”. On Sunday to wrap up the weekend, the Sunday Brunch Market will be happening at the Cultural Arts Center in Glen Allen.
