Good Afternoon, Richmond! There may be some potential storms in the area this weekend but that will not stop the fun that is happening around town. This week we are looking at the Eagle Construction community, Lauradell, in Ashland, VA. Lauradell is located right in the heart of Ashland near Randolph-Macon College on Thompson Street and off of route 54.

To start the weekend off, on Friday evening take the family to go see “The Addams Family Musical” at the Deep Run High School Theatre. The musical begins at 7pm and will last until 10pm with tickets being $10 at the door or $8 if bought in advance. On Saturday, the “Spring-o-Ween: halfway to Halloween Festival” is happening at the Hanover Vegetable Farm to celebrate the halfway mark to Halloween. Unfortunately, the haunted attraction will not be open this year on this day, but lots of other spooky things will be available such as costume contests, a photo booth, games, and live entertainment. The event is $15 at the door or $10 in advance. The event starts at 2pm and will last until 10pm. Saturday evening if you decide to leave the festival early, Rob Abernathey, a singer and songwriter guitarist will be performing at Ashland Coffee and Tea from 6pm until 930pm. A great way to get to know the heart of Ashland and also great entertainment. Ashland Coffee and Tea is located at 100 N Railroad Avenue and is approximately 10 minutes from Lauradell. To end the weekend, if you want to learn more about the town of Ashland and its history, the Ashland Museum is open to the public on Sunday from 1pm to 3pm. This is a great opportunity to see all that Ashland has to offer and the history of the town in one place!
