It’s everyone’s favorite day of the weekend again, happy Friday Richmond! This week, we are focusing on Eagle Construction’s subdivision, Greengate, in the Short Pump area. The address for Greengate is 3340 Haydenpark Lane in Henrico.
With it being the first weekend of April, spring activities are picking up in the area and there is a lot to do.
To start off the weekend on Friday head on over to Short Pump Town Center for Easter Bunny pictures with the kids and your family. The location is in the mall on the upper level near “L.L Bean”. The setting for the picture is the “Southern Garden”. Picture packages are available for purchase with prices varying. This event started on March 30th, and is going on until April 20th. Pictures are taken daily from 10am-8pm. Also going on on these dates is the Petting Farm which is located on the main plaza in the mall. The Petting Farm is open daily from 11am-6pm. On Saturday, Richmond’s “Bizarre Bazaar’s Spring Market” is back and will open their doors at 10am on Friday. The “Bizarre Bazaar” is an event located at the Richmond Raceway and has multiple vendors from the area and all over sell their merchandise. The merchandise ranges from clothing, to gifts, to food. Tickets for this event are $12.50 for adults and $1.50 for children. The event starts at 10am and ends at 7pm. This event is approximately a 20 minute drive from Greengate. If shopping isn’t what you are in the mood for, head on over to Glen Allen for the “April Fools Festival” at the James River Cellars Winery, where HOVA wineries will be featured. The event will include wine tastings but also will have food trucks, vendors, and live music by The Big Gavel Band. Tickets can be purchased from www.hovawinetrail.com between $20-30. The winery is located at 11008 Washington Highway in Glen Allen and this event will take place from 12pm-5pm. To end the weekend on Sunday, The University of Richmond is hosting Global Sounds and Day of Play at the Westhampton Green from 3pm-5pm. Dance performances and concerts will be happening during this time and “The Richmond Playbook” will also be taking place which includes a petting zoo and food trucks.
