Here’s a preview of some of the awesome events going down in RVA thsi weekend!

The 14th Annual St. Benedict Oktoberfest is going on all weekend at the church at 300 N Sheppard St in Richmond! Don your lederhosen and come out to enjoy German music, dancing, food, drinks, and more! Doors open at 4 PM on Friday, 11 AM Saturday, and 12 PM Sunday. Food/drink tickets are available for purchase for $1 each. Just to give you an idea of prices, the “Wurst Platter” costs 12 tickets and gets you bratwurst, knockwurst, weisswurst, sauerkraut, German potato salad and a roll. Each day of Oktoberfest is packed with events and performances and even has a kid’s zone to keep the whole family entertained. All proceeds from Oktoberfest are used to support the Catholic Schools historically associated with Saint Benedict Parish.

On Saturday, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is donating 50 percent of admission proceeds to those who were affected by severe weather caused by the aftermath of Hurricane Florence in the Richmond Region this week. Come out and listen to live music from Butcher Brown and BanCaribe as they perform in the Rose Garden and Bloemendaal House from noon to 4:30. They’ll also be having a silent auction with one hundred percent of the proceeds going to those affected by the severe storms. The auction runs from 9 AM 9/21 to 11:59 PM 9/22.
