Here’s what’s going on this weekend in and around Richmond!

Looking to add a new furry family member? This weekend might be the best time to do it! Clear the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Last year, the Richmond SPCA set a single-day adoption record, placing 79 pets in loving homes, this year, they are hoping to beat that record! With help from their generous sponsor, Richmond Orthodontics, 100% of the adoption fee for each qualified adopter on Saturday is being waived! The Richmond SPCA has tons of cats and dogs of all ages (and personalities!) looking for their forever homes, come out and see if it’s with you and your family! Come visit the adoption center at 2519 Hermitage Rd in Richmond from 11-6!

On Sunday, Celebrations at the Reservoir is hosting Suds, Swine and Wine, a festival of BBQ, craft beer, and wine to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and The Conductive Learning Center. The Learning Center serves children birth to age 26 with motor disorders related to complications of prematurity, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida or brain injury. Using a holistic and intensive approach that combines medical knowledge with educational methods, they help children can gain control over their bodies, accomplish tasks they may never thought possible, increase problem solving skills, and improve overall confidence! Give back to this incredible cause while enjoying live music, delicious barbecue, craft beer, wine tastings and more! A kids corner with face painting, crafts, and a bouncy house will keep the little ones entertained so you can pull up a chair and relax all afternoon. The party runs from 1-6 at 4801 Woolridge Rd in Moseley and admission ranges from $10 to $35.

Have a great weekend Richmonders!
