Looking for a way to beat the heat this weekend? Head out to the 35th Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival on Sunday August 12th! With 5 stages featuring over 50 performances, more than 100 vendors lining the streets and thousands of juicy watermelons, this Richmond favorite is not to be missed! Each year, thousands of people flock to Carytown to enjoy one of the largest outdoor festivals in Virginia. The event raises money for the Carytown Merchants Association and each $1 bowl of watermelon sold benefits the Shriners Hospital for Children. This festival has something for everyone! Artisans will be selling their unique jewelry, clothing, pottery, and more along the street. In the center of the festival, you can find a kid’s area with face-painting and rides. In addition to the food trucks and local restaurants serving watermelon themed food and drink specials, there will be a beer garden located by the main stage as well as a station serving wine between Freeman and Beaumont. And as always, children of all ages and four legged friends are welcome!

Have a great weekend Richmonders!
